Welcome to Heritage Days...It started over 30 years ago with Ed Elmore and Jim Breashears of the Corps of Engineers, beinging a few local people and their crafts together for a small event to honor there pioneering forefathers.
How many on that October weekend in 1981 could have forseen what a great tradition it would become. Even though Heritge Days started out on the grounds of Truman Visitors Center, Ed and Jim's vision of getting the whole community involved, soon became a reality. (see Kaysinger Bluff 1800's for additonal information)
In a few short years a downtown version, featuring more modern handmade crafts, took place on the same weekend on the courthouse lawn. The event has grown that it is now located in Drake Harbor.(see Modern Day Crafters tab for additional information).
